Prague Convention of Jehovah's Witnesses

Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses took place at Strahov stadium this weekend. There were altogether twenty thousand believers, who travelled to Prague from all over the world – there were reportedly eight thousand English-speaking members. Others came from Estonia, Croatia or for example Greece.

The programme of the convention included baptisms of approximately 150 new members – majority of whom were female. The baptisms took place in two pools since the whole body must plunge into water. There were also a lecture and a theatre performance.

An intense campaign took place prior to the convention during which the members tried to invite as many people as possible. This infamous missionary door-to-door work became associated with Jehovah’s Witnesses. With over six million followers worldwide they are often considered to be a sect.

One of the criticisms is that the organisation cuts the social links of the members with the outside world – the so called separation. Their infamous customs include refusal to take a blood transfusion under all circumstances. They also cannot own or even salute to national flag or to stand for national anthem. Jehovah’s Witnesses also do not celebrate birthday or holy days such as Easter or Christmas.

A heads up on the Jehovah Witness

There is no Armageddon that will annihilate 6.5 billion people, and install Watchtower leaders as world rulers.

The core dogma of the Watchtower organization is that Jesus had his second coming ‘invisibly’ in the year 1914.Their entire doctrinal superstructure is built on this falsehood.

Jehovah’s Witnesses door to door recruitment is by their own admission an ineffective tactic. They have lost membership in all countries with major Internet access because their false doctrines and harmful practices are exposed on the modern information superhighway.

There is good and valid reasons why there is such an outrage against the Watchtower for misleading millions of followers. Many have invested everything in the ‘imminent’ apocalyptic promises of the Jehovah’s Witnesses and have died broken and beaten.

Thank you for your article regarding the convention held in Prague last weekend. As I had freinds attending, I was interested to see how it went. I would like to make a comment on the final part of your article tho.

    It stated
‘One of the criticisms is that the organisation cuts the social links of the members with the outside world – the so called separation.’
This is contrary to what you stated earlier in your article. The witnesses invited delegates from all over the world, and their local neighbours to attend. This is hardly cutting social links. I also felt over points were just thrown in, without proper research.

Jehovah’s Witnesses are known internationally for many things including their preaching work. But they are also known for such things as

    * Standing up to Hitler, and showing complete neutrality and courage in the face of death,

    * having complete impartiality regarding race, colour or background.

    * having an international family that comes to help in times of distress.
    to mention just a few!
I felt that these points perhaps should have been researched regarding your article as they have greater relation to the subject you were dealing with.

    Many thanks

Danny has incorrectly stated a bible truth.

Revelation and other books of bible prophesy like Daniel, identify 1914 as the year Christ took up his kingship in heaven. This was not the second earthly coming as named by Catholics and others.

This enthronement in heaven was marked (among other things) by the casting out of Satan and his demons from Heaven down to the Earth. (Woe to the Earth and all who reside there for Satan is trapped and knows he has but a short time left)

Satan will be removed from the earth for a time once the day of Armageddon is upon us. Then Judgement will commence.

How will we know when this day is here? How will we know when the Presence of Jesus the son of man is almost upon us?

The Disciples asked these questions and Jesus answered them in Matt 24, Luke 21 and Mark 13. Or, you could just watch the news tonight and see foryourself that we are living in the last days.

If Danny would like, a JW in his area could explain the bible truths to him in person. I encourage him to ask and find out the truth.
