Traditional International Jazz Festival in Prague belongs to the oldest jazz festivals in Europe, this year it already celebrates 30 years. International Jazz Festival Prague 2006 takes place in Reduta Jazz Club and Lucerna Music Bar from 26th October till 2nd November.

Jazz musicians from 11 countries will play in 10 concerts during eight days. The headliner of this year will be legendary organist from the USA Rhoda Scott who is on the programme on 2nd November. Among others we can hear Dutch Basily, Hungarian jazz chorus Djabe or jazz harmonica player Sugar Blue, an ex-teammate of Rolling Stones and Grammy winner.

The festival will also commemorate Czech jazz promoter Jaroslav Jezek who was born exactly 100 years ago. His ageless songs will be played by Petr Korinek Jazz Orchestra and sung by Eva Svobodova.

International Jazz Festival in Prague is held, like every year, under the auspices of President of the Czech Republic and the Capital City of Prague. For the program of the festival click here.
