The city centre without cars

The pedestrian precinct in the centre of Prague will be strictly closed to cars. The only exceptions will be cars with a special licence and cars for disabled persons.

The town hall wants to close the area till the end of this year, in case of bad weather in spring the next year. The columns preventing cars from going into the precinct will be in the lower part of Vaclavske namesti, in streets 28. rijna, Na Prikopech and at the intersection of roads Rytirska, Havirska and Ovocny trh.

The city Prague already started to deal with a firm that will take the necessary measures. The cost of this project will reach 5 millions crowns. The city centre will be then mainly for pedestrians as it is meant.
