Christmas markets

As we informed you yesterday, even though Christmas comes in two months, Prague hotels are almost fully booked for this period, as well as for the New Year’s Eve. About 100 000 – 150 000 tourists will celebrate these holidays in Prague and they can look forward to the interesting programme.

Christmas atmosphere can be felt on Christmas markets that start on Saturday 2nd December and will last til the 1st January 2007. The markets will be held on the Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square. Visitors can see a twenty meters high Christmas tree which will “throw out snow”. There should be new stands similar to the ones in Vienna this year.

The Prague State Opera together with Czech Philharmonia will play Ryba’s Christmas Mass in the Old Town Square on Christmas Eve at 21:15, on New Year’s Day visitors can look forward to the New Year’s Concert in the Old Town Square at 18:00.
