More expensive bus tickets
The Czech Republic starts a new system of paying tolls on Czech highways next year. Every vehicle heavier than 12 tons, which includes buses, will have to pay electrical tolls.
This toll will probably increase the price of tickets for the buses going from Prague to other cities in the Czech Republic, such as Brno, Plzen, Ostrava etc. For example the ticket from Prague to Brno might cost 180 CZK, which is 20% more expensive than now.
Also foreign visitors travelling to or through the Czech Republic might expect the rise in price of bus tickets because of the toll on Czech highways.
The Ministry of Transport do not think of excluding buses from paying the toll or giving grants to the carriers to compensate the price now.
