No entrance fee to St Vitus Cathedral from this Wednesday?
The Prague Castle Administrative is prepared to take over the ownership of St Vitus Cathedral at Prague Castle and stop immediatelly collecting the entrance fee. According to the spokesman Petr Hajek, visitors will not have to pay the entrance fee to visit St Vitus Cathedral from this Wednesday.
The Prague Castle Administrative and the representatives of the Church will meet tomorrow. Cardinal Miroslav Vlk, however, see this meeting as a starting point for discussion about the date and other conditions of the transfer.
The Czech state and the Church have been litigating for the cathedral for many years. The Church started to collect the entrance fee last year and St Vitus cathedral was no longer the part of Prague Castle tours. The only change that visitors should notice soon will be no entrance fee for St Vitus Cathedral.
