Prague expects football hooligans
The Czech Republic will play against Germany in Saturday’s European Championship qualifier in Prague. Police forces expect about 18,000 football fans from the Czech Republic and about 3,000 from Germany.
According to police experience, up to 1,000 hooligans without tickets for the match are planning to go to Prague this weekend. The police prepared, therefore, special security measures that will last from Friday to Sunday. Police expect disturbances not only at the stadium but also in local pubs and bars.
10 German experts on football violence will help Czech policemen take care of the situation. The police will regulate the transport in the area around the stadium. At the same time they have to coordinate another event in Prague – the Prague International Marathon that is held this Saturday.
