Tomas Verner - Czech Figure Skater won European Championship
Tomas Verner, a figure skater from the Czech Republic, won the European Championship of 2008 yesterday. It is the first golden medal, sixteen years after Czech Petr Barny’s triumph in 1992. By gaining the European title Verner beaten his earlier record – last year silver medal from Warsaw.
“I don’t know what to say, this is my first European prize. I hope it’s not the last.” Verner commented his life success. The Czech 21-years old skater in Zagreb yesterday beaten, being ahead of second Stéphan Lambiel, the double world champion from Switzerland. The last year no. 1 French Brian Jouberd was third.
